Marlene’s Reiki Journey

I commenced Reiki training in 1997 in the Western Takata system of Usui Shiki Ryoho. After practicing Reiki for a number of years I became a Master/Teacher of this system in 2001. During this time I set-up and operated clinics for the general public; sufferers of cancer in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Western Australia and  practiced Reiki with the Western Australian AIDS Council.

In 2001, I retrained as a Usui Reiki Ryoho teacher with the International House of Reiki in the lineage of Hiroshi Doi who is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. I am now honoured to teach a traditional form of Japanese Reiki. Usui Reiki Ryoho is a non-westernized form of Reiki, which means returning to the very source of the teachings. It has been practiced in Japan since the early 1900’s, long before the system came to the West. This particular method includes physical and energy enhancing techniques to help practitioners delve deeper into their own personal development and resultant practice on others.

I spent time studying Komyo Reiki Kai in Sydney in 2003 with the Japanese Reiki Master Hyakuten Inamoto of Kyoto Healing Centre, Japan. I now teach all three levels of the system of Reiki including both Shinpiden (Master/Teacher) levels of Usui Reiki Ryoho and Komyo Reiki Kai.

My formal teaching qualifications and many years of lecturing at both University and Adult Learning levels have enhanced my ability to conduct experiential workshops in a fun and informative manner.

It is my philosophy to encourage others to empower themselves by strengthening their energetic connection with the founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui. I believe that by utilizing the practices prescribed by Usui Sensei to enhance your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual development it is possible to achieve satori (enlightenment) in this lifetime.
